Microsoft has officially released its security update for the Windows 10 operating system.
The update is required for all users running Windows 10 in the United States.
The updates will be available on February 18.
Microsoft has said that customers who have already installed the update are safe.
The update for Windows 10 is the first to address the new Ransomware-as-a-Service (RaaS) ransomware that is plaguing organizations.
This new variant of the RaaS threat is not exclusive to Windows 10.
It has been spotted on a variety of Android phones and tablets.
Microsoft says it will update the operating system in a later time to address all of the threats it sees.
Microsoft added the update to its website on Wednesday.
The software maker also released the Windows Defender security suite.
The suite is the company’s default protection for Windows and Windows Mobile.
Microsoft also updated its antivirus software to prevent the spread of RaaSS.
