Computer vision and machine learning experts from the University of Cambridge have analysed the price of a typical desktop computer.
They’ve estimated that the cheapest desktop computer sold in the UK in March 2017 was the $1,300 Dell Inspiron 13 7000, which retails for $1.99US.
In comparison, the most expensive desktop computer available at the time was the Dell Inspire 11 7000, with a price tag of $2,399US.
They’re looking at the price per gigabyte (GB) and the price as a percentage of the base price, which is how much a computer will cost if bought at a specific location.
If you’ve ever purchased a laptop, you know the average price of laptops can be quite high.
The average laptop in the US sold for $2.49US, according to Computerworld.
A Dell Inspiration 11 7000 laptop will set you back $1 million.
In the UK, the average PC sold is £1,400.
If the same laptop costs a lot more, it may be more affordable.
The cheapest desktop PC sold in March was the Asus ROG Strix 17 7000-7850, which sold for £1.49 US.
The Asus Rog Strix laptop will cost you about £1m, according of Amazon UK.
